NEW Allergen Coding (PLEASE READ):

We manufacturer & package our own mixes & flours in our own dedicated plant, using carefully selected ingredient suppliers.  NO Wheat, Gluten, Dairy, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Egg, or Soy (except the lecithin already found in our prepared chocolate chips) are opened & used in our plant to make our own line of mixes & flours.   While we sell products with Dairy, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Egg, Soy, Sesame, & Yeast we only handle PREPACKAGED, UNOPENED forms of these in our plant.  We consider corn a food allergen when preparing & packaging mixes & flours, & minimize the risk of cross-contamination with the cornstarch & xanthan (derived from corn) found in a few of our mixes by employing the highest cleaning & manufacturing standards available in our industry.

The term “Free Of” & “potential risk of cross contamination” is based on multiple factors:  information determined from the manufacturer/ingredient source, our interpretation of the manufacturer’s information about their information & conscientiousness about food safety practices, & the actual manufacturing & cleaning practices.   While all attempts are made to locate foods manufactured & packaged in dedicated plants, or at minimum, in dedicated rooms or separate production lines, unfortunately few companies exist.   We always attempt to select products from companies we feel employ the strictest cleaning procedures to minimize any potential risk of cross contamination & highest attention to our noted food concerns as potential allergens.   If the product  states “may contain” a food allergen in their ingredients, description, or packaging, we will NOT list that food item (e.g. dairy) in our “Free of” list, even if it is not used in the product & may only be a extremely minimal potential risk of cross contamination.

Each person has different levels of risk with cross contamination.  Ingredients & manufacturing practices can also change at any time, & this catalog becomes dated quickly after printing.  We also may be unintentionally misinformed or misinterpret the data.  Consequently customers should interpret our terms “Free Of” with caution.  IF YOU HAVE A SEVERE SENSITIVITY OR REACTION TO AN INGREDIENT, PLEASE CALL THE MANUFACTURER (listed here on the website) BEFORE CONSUMING.  If you have any medical or individualized dietary questions or concerns, please consult your personal physician &/or nutrition specialist.  Miss Roben's cannot assume liability for any adverse reactions encountered when consuming these products.

Wheat: Includes wheat, wheat starch, spelt, triticale, & kamut, & derivatives of.

Gluten: Includes all wheat (including kamut, triticale, wheat starch, & spelt), oats, barley & rye, & derivatives of.

Dairy: Includes all casein, whey, & lactose, & derivatives of.

Peanuts: Includes all forms of peanuts, & derivatives of.

Tree Nuts:  Includes all forms of tree nuts, & derivatives of.  Allergen Note: Sesame seeds are considered a category 2-type nut allergy & MAY affect some nut intolerant people.

Egg: Includes both egg yolks & egg whites, & derivatives of.

Soy: Includes both soy lecithin & soy protein, & derivatives of.

Corn:  Includes cornstarch, corn syrup & corn protein, & derivatives of.  Note: Most consider xanthan, typically processed from corn syrup, to be corn-free, with no risk of cross contamination.  Since it is grown off a corn substrate, we let you judge, & list it as Corn*.

Rice: Includes brown, white, & sweet rice, & derivatives of.

Feingold®: means this is an acceptable Stage One Feingold® program food.

*   This is a very subjective notation reflecting our personal interpretation to potential cross-contamination with the noted food concern & recognition that few manufacturers make only one product.  An asterisk only implies that at the time of print, the product, despite the manufacturer’s efforts to employ good food allergen safety practices, was manufactured on shared equipment with that food/food derivative either without extensive washing between runs, OR used in other products manufactured simultaneously &/or on the same day.  As a result, we feel there is an increased but very slight but potential risk of cross contamination or contents of that food in the product.

If the food/ingredient in question is NOT used in manufacturing on the SAME day & also we believe the manufacturer to be scrupulous in employing the highest level of food allergen practices, & efforts to minimize ANY potential risk of cross contamination with another ingredient, we may still continue to sell the product as totally “free of” & list it in the search engines as such.  To assist you we have added allergen notes below the “free of” statement to make alert you to other foods we know are produced in the same plant that may be a concern. So while we try to be painstakingly conscientious to all individuals with food concerns regardless of severe reactions, IF YOU ARE SEVERELY SENSITIVE OR HAVE SEVERE REACTIONS TO AN INGREDIENT, PLEASE CALL THE MANUFACTURER BEFORE CONSUMING!  We would be happy to replace or refund any item purchased in error.

?   Information for more specifics was unknown at time of print.  If a question mark precedes a food item marked with an asterisk, it infers that potential risk of cross contamination was unknown at time of print. To avoid potential risk, items with this question mark will NOT show up in our online website searches for products requested “free of” that food.

At customer request we have added the below food concerns to our “free of” list, but do not know the status of potential cross contamination concerns with these foods as yet.

(White) Potato: Includes ONLY white potatoes.  Sweet potatoes & yams are NOT included here.

Sugar:  Includes naturally found cane or beet sugars; evaporated cane sugar, cane syrup, corn syrup, molasses, & fruit or fructose.   Does NOT include simple or complex starches that may metabolize to become sugars or sugar alcohols.   At this time Miss Roben's mixes use both cane & beet sugars.

Yeast: Includes Brewer’s & Baker’s yeast.  Does not include potential “yeast feeders” like sugar, vinegars, or starches.

Sesame: Includes sesame, ground sesame, sesame seeds, & Tahini.  Allergen Note: Sesame seeds are considered a category 2-type nut allergy & MAY affect some nut intolerant people.

Allergen Note:  The salt used in our mixes is free of iodine & corn.
