Fantastic Black Bean Mexican Chili

1 medium onion, chopped

1 Tbsp oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 pound ground turkey

1 Tbsp chili powder

1 Tbsp cumin

3/4  tsp salt

1 can crushed tomatoes

1 can diced tomatoes

2 cans black beans, drained

3/4 cup salsa

Heat oil in a large saucepot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook 5 minutes till soft and translucent. Crumble turkey into saucepan and sprinkle with spices. Cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add tomatoes, beans and salsa. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered 50 minutes stirring occasionally. Serve over rice if desired.
