3 lbs Golden delicious apples, quartered and cut into1/4 inch pieces

1 1/2 cups apple juice

1/2 cups cranberries

1/2 cup sugar

Combine all ingredients in heavy large saucepan over high heat. Bring to boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium; simmer until apples are very tender and beginning to fall apart about 25 minutes. It can be made 2 days ahead. Cover and chill.
