White Sauce

Source: Lynda Nixon, GFCFKids, Yahoo Groups

4 Tbsp margarine

4 Tbsp corn starch

2 cups milk substitute

Melt margarine in a medium sauce pan over medium heat. Stir in corn starch and mix until blended.--(I mix the corn starch in the pan off the burner).   Add milk substitute and continue to heat over medium heat, constantly stirring until sauce begins to thicken.  It will thicken up quickly. Remove from burner and season to taste, add anything gluten free/casein free you want. I make creamed peas, creamed beef, cheese sauce using cheese substitute, tuna and noodles, etc.
