Molded Bath Fizzies

1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup cornstarch, potato starch, tapioca starch or arrowroot starch
1/2 cup citric acid
1/8 cup epsom salts (optional)
*witch hazel in a spray bottle
various essential oils & dried herbs

Sift all dry ingredients in a glass bowl.  Add essential oils about 10-20 drops per recipe.  -- We use lavender, rosemary, peppermint, geranium, orange and lemon(the orange and lemon are photo sensitizing, so use caution in the summer/spring months.   Mist the dry ingredients about three or four times with the spray bottle of witch hazel and mix well.  Keep spraying until the mixture clumps when you squeeze it in your hands, do not over saturate.  You just want to achieve a moldable texture.  Add dried herbs, if desired.  Press firmly into molds, we use the mini soap or candy molds that have been dusted with starch. The Rubbermaid ice cube trays that are unique shapes also work well for molds.  Allow the ingredients to remain in the molds for about one minute and then gently invert the mold onto wax paper and tap them to release.  Place the fizzies in a cool and dry location for 24-36 hours.  We store them individually wrapped in colored plastic wrap inside a Mason jar.
