               Meringue Kisses
 
Ingredients:
2 egg whites
1/8 t. cream of tartar
1/8 t. salt
3/4 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla

Instructions:
1.   Preheat oven to 300° F.
2.  Beat egg whites, adding cream of tartar, salt and vanilla, until soft peaks form.
3.  Add sugar, 2 Tbsp at a time, and beat until stiff peaks form. 4.  Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheet covered with parchment or brown paper, and bake 25 minutes.
5.  Cool before removing cookie sheet.

CHOCOLATE CHIP MERINGUES: Fold in 6 ounces mini chocolate chips and 1/4 cup ground pecans (opt.). Bake as above
